Pressure switch ATEX GW A4/2 HP X Dungs and differential pressure switch GGW A4/2 X
- These pressure switches GW A4/2 HP X, GGW A4/2 X and GGW A4-U/2 X are designed for monitoring in burner control systems. Suitable for closing, opening or switching over a current circuit when the actual pressure value deviates from the specified pressure setpoint.
- The abbreviation ATEX stands for the French term "Atmosphere explosible" and is used as synonym for the two EU directives concerning explosion protection: Equipment directive 94/9/EC and Workplace directive 1999/92/EC. The equipment for Dungs ATEX product range complies with equipment group II, category 3 for gas and dust. It may only be used in zones 2 and 22.
- Marking: II 3 G Ex nC IIB T6 Gc (gaz) and
II 3 D Ex tc IIB T 75oC Dc (gas). - Maximum operating pressure: GW A4/2 X: 500 mbar, setting ranges between 0.4÷300 mbar; GGW A4/2 HP X: 2÷8 bar, setting ranges between 0.1÷6 bar.
- Ambient and medium temperature: -15÷70oC, storage temperature -30÷80oC.
- Switching voltage: DC 5÷24 V; DC 24÷48 V; AC 24÷250 V. Nominal current: DC 20 mA; (AC 10 A).
- The installation position can change the switching pressure with up to 0.5 mbar for GGW A4/2 X and up to 80 mbar for GW A4/2 HP X.
- Suitable for employment with gas families 1, 2, 3 and other neutral gaseous media as well as air, flue and exhaust gases. It does not contain any non-ferrous metals, suitable for gases of up to max. 0.1 vol. % H2S, dry.
Functional description
- Overpressure switch GW ... A4/2 HP X
Pressure switch for applications involving excess pressure. GW A4/2 HP X counteracts the force of the setting spring on micro-switch via the metal bellows. The pressure switch does not
require auxiliary power. The switching mechanism reacts to overpressure and closes, opens or switches over a current circuit when the specified setpoint is overshot or undershot.
All gas-bearing parts are made of stainless steel 1.4541 and are suitable for biogas applications and aggressive media such as sulfuric acid with concentrations up to 1.0 vol %.
- Differential pressure switch GGW ... A4/2 X si GGW ... A4-U/2 X
The switching apparatus reacts to the difference in pressure between the two pressure chambers [G 1/4 (+) - G 1/8 (-)] and, if the pressure exceeds or drops below the setpoint, activates or
switches an electrical circuit.
If the lower pressure is G 1/8 (-) and excess pressure with respect to the atmosphere exists type GGW A4/2 X must be employed. If lower power with the respect to the atmosphere exists
GGW A4-U/2 X must be employed.
- Over-pressure switch GGW ... A4/2 X, Pressure connection G 1/4 (+):
The switching apparatus reacts to excess pressure and activates or switches if the pressure exceeds or drops below a setpoint. Simply and efficiently acting pressure switch for the excess
pressure range. The pressure connection, G 1/8 (-) must not be closed or blocked.
- Under-pressure switch GGW ... A4-U/2 X, Pressure connection G 1/8 (-):
The switching apparatus reacts to inadequate pressure and activates or switches if the pressure exceeds or drops below a setpoint. Simply and efficiently acting pressure switch for the
low-pressure range. The pressure connection, G 1/4 (+) must not be closed or blocked.
